Department of Pharmacy-Residency Program Mission
At the completion of the PGY1 residency year, the pharmacy resident will be a well-developed independent practitioner of clinical pharmacy that will apply and integrate pharmaceutical care principles, accept accountability for pursuing optimal medication management, and demonstrate pharmacy leadership and commitment to the profession.
Program Description
IRMC PGY-1 Residency program is an ASHP accredited, 12 month, post-graduate training program that will provide the resident with training in various aspects of pharmacy practice including Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Ambulatory care, Drug Information as well as various electives (see Residency Specifics).
In accordance with ASHP, the program will provide the structure for learning by following the Residency Learning System (RLS) but the program will enable flexibility to meet the resident’s practice interest and career goals.
