In addition to cardiac surgery, IRMC's cardiac and thoracic surgeons provide state-of-the-art lung surgery. Dr. Mark A. Malias leads a multidisciplinary group of physician specialists who review lung cancer patient's cases to help them and their primary care physicians determine their best, personalized treatment. In some cases, an innovative, minimally invasive procedure called VATS (video-assisted thoracic surgery) can be utilized in which Dr. Malias can remove a lobe or part of the lung through a tiny incision.Return To Top
